Here's a poem we learnt in primary school. Elocute it, draw it, sing it, rap it, put a tune to it--do anything that will help you know it by heart so you know your fundamental grammar!
Every name is called a noun,

As field and fountain, street and town;
In place of noun the pronoun stands
As he and she can clap their hands;
The adjective describes a thing,
As magic wand and bridal ring;
The verb means action, something done -
To read, to write, to jump, to run;
How things are done, the adverbs tell,
As quickly, slowly, badly, well;
The preposition shows relation,
As in the street, or at the station;
Conjunctions join, in many ways,
Sentences, words, or phrase and phrase;
The interjection cries out, 'Hark!
I need an exclamation mark!'

Dear Sir,
Where is this song about parts of speech from? I would like to use it in our e-textbook which will be published free for students in Slovenia. Could you help me with it. Who can give me grants for publishing it?
Thank you for your help
Best wishes from Slovenia
Viljenka
Congratulations on the free e-textbook.
I'm afraid, Vili, that this is a rhyme taught to us in nursery school and I cannot find an attribution to it.
It seems to be in the public domain and there are several versions to be found on the world wide web.
Best of luck with your venture.
