This one is for those of you who believe in last minute studying! I had a question about Channel redundancy, Channel optimization, channel capacity and channel overload. So here's my concept clearing endeavour:
The total or ultimate extent of the channel to convey information is its capacity.
Optimisation is the most efficient use of channel capacity.
When more information than a channel can carry is thrust through it, there is an overload and communication is hampered.
When most of the capacity of a channel is not used, the space left "redundant" or unused acts as "white noise" and becomes a barrier to communication.
I wish you all good luck for tomorrow.
Any more questions?
